I recently widowed from a wonderful man who has been my life partner for some 50 years (we met at high school) and we have two adult children who are married, both with two daughters. I am therefore privileged to have four adorable granddaughters. I recently located to the beautiful surrounds of Olinda and have been in ministry for the past 25 years in varying roles, from pastor of a church, interim pastor, church planting in my neighbourhood in Carlton, Director of Ordination and Head of Mission Catalyst for the Baptist Union of Victoria. Recently I concluded a role at Baptcare as Manager of Spiritual Care for Chaplains in Aged Care (West of Victoria and Tasmania) and in-home care. I have also worked in palliative care for 7 years, primarily in pastoral, volunteer, and bereavement care and another 10 years working in community development and welfare organizations. I have a deep commitment to hospitality and the premise that “God is Love” and therefore my theology and all leadership actions flow from this. Therefore, my ecclesiology sees the church as a welcoming place for all people, regardless of their backgrounds, where mercy and justice are paramount.
