Bruce is an ordained Baptist minister, and has served in a variety of pastoral situations, rural and suburban. His concern has always been to help people to feel valued, cared for and encouraged to grow in their faith and in their commitment to God through Christ.

He began his working life as a Mathematics teacher and has extensive experience in educational administration in secular as well as theological institutions, including as Dean of Theology at Whitley College.

Together with his wife Pauline, Bruce joined Global Interaction (now Baptist Mission Australia) in 2008 and served for two years in the Silk Road Area where Bruce was Interim Team Leader. In 2011 they joined the South Asia team in which they served both full-time and part-time. In 2019 Bruce was Interim CEO of the Mission for which he currently works as a volunteer.

Bruce and Pauline started to attend East Doncaster Baptist Church in October 2024. They have greatly appreciated the welcome they received and have enjoyed getting to know and interact with the people here.
